Outdoor murals to inspire

A Little Motivation
Most Saturdays, I try and make it along to the local park run. I must admit on rainy
days in February this can involve more willpower than in June. But what gets me out
is remembering how good it feels once I start. Nods to people I see every week;
heart pumping as I observe the changing season and then the last competitive dash
for the line.
A mural to captur the excitement and fun of sport
All this was going through my mind when I designed the HYPE Central Park Hub in Liscard, Wirral. Finished with enthusiastic help from youngsters from the Youthy, the Absolutely Design outdoor mural aims to capture the excitement and fun of sport and specifically, the moment when everything is forgotten and you are fully present, focused on your next move.
Mural on an outside wall
Painted on an external wall, I use colour to create drama, graffiti-style slogans to
appeal to its young audience and design to project the focus and excitement of the
moment.
Inspiration
It is inspiring to see the positive impact that HYPE makes on its young members and
how sport improves their physical fitness, mood, socialising skills and confidence.
They don’t realise it yet but for
these young people, sport is the foundation of
something that will have a positive and life-long impact on their physical and mental
wellbeing.
That’s why, in future, I fully expect to see these youngsters line up for their local park
run, which will give me another reason to drag myself out of bed in February and into
the bracing fresh air.
